They seem super complicated at first sight, right? I can honestly say that it took me a long time to fully grasp how the genetics worked, and that was through a ton of mentoring, learning, research, and more research. There are some great resources already out there, but I never thought they had enough visual elements, and were often written in a way that was harder to understand for a newbie. After I finally figured out how they worked, I wanted to help other people go through the learning curve faster than I did, and have a better time in the process. We put together a document that has easy to understand descriptions and explanations of how the color genetics work. Besides that, there are tons of pictures to help you actually see how the colors work. That way it isn't nearly as hard to evaluate your own flock's colors when the time comes. I also have several examples of the more complicated combinations that are harder to visualize, as well as visual demonstrations of the related terms and registration codes.
