Sage

Bred to Houdini for 2024 calving

Breed: Jersey
Breeding Farm:
Peaceful Valley
Gender: First Calf Heifer
Birth: Summer 2020
Sire:
Peaceful Valley Oliver
Dam: Peaceful Valley Ellie
Horns: Heterozygous Polled
Beta-casein: --
Height: 45" at 3 years at the top of the hip

Sage was the first calf born on Peaceful Valley. When Ellie was in labor she kept laying down on sagebrush bushes and we told her she better move or she'd give birth in a bush. She dutifully got up and resituated...right up until the last moment. Then she got up, laid down and pushed Sage out right into a sagebrush bush. Silly cows!

Sage has matured as a midsize cow, but she's got great mini genetics behind her, and her udder is shaping up to be something to behold.

Hadley

Breed: (Miniature White Park x Miniature Jersey) x (Lowline x Miniature Jersey)
Breeding Farm:
Ida's Miniature Jerseys
Gender: First Calf Heifer
Birth: --
Sire:
--
Dam: --
Horns: Polled
Beta-casein: --
Height: Miniature

Hadley is a very sturdy little lady! We are super excited to meet her first calf in June of 2023 and see how Hadley does with learning the ropes of being a milk cow. She has been very accepting of touch and in the short time we've had her has gone from running away from us to letting us touch/scratch her everywhere and even work with her udder (pretty important for that milk cow gig). She is a delightful addition to our fold and we're blessed to have her.

Autumn

Bred to Houdini for 2024 calving

Breed: Jersey
Breeding Farm:
Peaceful Valley
Gender: Heifer
Birth: Fall 2021
Sire:
Sure Shot Captain Morgan
Dam: Peaceful Valley Ellie
Horns: Disbudded
Beta-casein: --
Height: 39" at 18 months at the top of the hip

Autumn is a delightful little lady. She loves chin rubs and giving cow kisses to everyone: people, goats, dogs.... We headed up to her fold the other day and Chester, one of her guardian dogs, was all wet. We wondered about that because it obviously wasn't the aftermath of a dominance fight. A few days later we found the source: Autumn. She happily licked Chester all over and he reveled in the attention!

She is built very sturdily with a great topline, compact size, and the signs of having an incredible udder. She's bred for a fall 2024 calf.

Whitney

Breed: Miniature Highland x Dexter
Breeding Farm:

Gender: Heifer
Birth: --
Sire:
--
Dam: --
Horns: Dehorned
Beta-casein: --
Height: Miniature

Whitney is an adorable heifer! We got her to breed in more hardiness to our dairy cows, and she's definitely stood out in the winter hardiness area! We got almost two feet of snow the day after she arrived (terrible timing, but it was the one available time that worked out) and she went through it barely batting an eye! She was more standoffish than our cows initially, but has definitely warmed up the longer she's been here! We're so excited to see what Whitney brings to our herd in the long run!
