The Farm Chronicles
Sale Barn - Wethers
We're so excited you're interested in our wethers! These boys were wethered for a variety of reasons, but all because they didn't quite meet our standards for breeding quality rams (Note: These are castrated males, not unregistered breeders you can get for a minimal price). The only reason we offer wethers for sale is to offer people the experience of raising their own meat, or because these guys have fleece and/or temperaments that make them too good to just go to the freezer!
Meat Wethers
These guys are not really friendly, and don't necessarily have high quality fleece. They would be great for a "raise your own food" experience!
$100
Pet/Fleece Wethers
These wethers are friendly, and usually have awesome fleece on top of that! They would be great options for ram companions, pets, or for a fiber flock. These are NOT for meat!
$150-$250
Gabriel
Breed: Icelandic
Breeding Farm: Peaceful Valley
Gender: Wether
Birth:
Sire: Aldercreek Luther
Dam: Lingerfold Umi
Horns: Horned
Color/Pattern: Black mouflon
- Pet/Fleece
Honestly, Gabriel would've been an amazing breeding ram, but he was born super late and was too small come fall breeding season to be put in with our adult rams. He has amazing fleece and a gentle and friendly temperament!
$250
Tumnus
Breed: Icelandic
Breeding Farm: Peaceful Valley
Gender: Wether
Birth: 4/16/2024
Sire: PFVL Gideon
Dam: PFVL Martha
Horns: Polled
Color/Pattern: Solid black
- Pet/Fleece
Tumnus is the epitome of a perfect fleece/pet wether. He was wethered for small size his first fall, and is still slightly small. His temperament is amazing, and his fleece is the icing on top!
$250
Sam
Breed: Icelandic
Breeding Farm: Peaceful Valley
Gender: Wether
Birth: May 24, 2022
Sire: Alder Creek Valmunder
Dam: Peaceful Valley Flower
Horns: Horned
Color/Pattern: White
- Fleece
Sam is one of those sheep who has fountains of fleece that just never end. If you're looking for a fleece producer who will give you copious quantities of flowing, curly tog, Sam is your guy! His temperament is gentle and curious, but not overly friendly. He was wethered for slight conformational imperfections.
$200
Ryder
Breed: Icelandic
Breeding Farm: Peaceful Valley
Gender: Ram
Birth: 4/22/2023
Sire: Peaceful Valley William
Dam: Peaceful Valley Claara
Horns: Polled
Color/Pattern: White
- Pet/Fleece
Ryder is a handsome fellow who would be a great fleece wether. He is gentle and occasionally comes up for rubs, but he's not a huge love bug. His fleece is amazingly thick and soft, and he roos well! Ryder was wethered for slower growth.
$200
Fly
Breed: Icelandic
Breeding Farm: Peaceful Valley
Gender: Wether
Birth: April 03, 2019
Sire: The Creeks Edge Glacier
Dam: North Coast Fern
Horns: Scurred
Color/Pattern: Black mouflon
- Pet/Fleece
Fly is starting to get a little older, which is why his price is lower. He was one of our very first lambs, and we wethered every ram lamb we got that year (although Fly still had scurs, which would've been a point against him anyways).
He grows a ton of eye catching, beautiful, thick, and curly fleece, and is somewhat friendly.
Note: Fly does not always respect electric netting.
$175
Leif
Breed: Icelandic
Breeding Farm: Peaceful Valley
Gender: Wether
Birth: 4/28/2023
Sire: Aldercreek Luther
Dam: Peaceful Valley Flower
Horns: Scurred
Color/Pattern: Black mouflon
- Pet/Fleece
Leif is a gentle giant of a wether. Although not friendly, he is a softie at heart. He fits right in with any pen we've put him in, and even though his size would make you think he's a bully, he is absolutely not! Lief was wethered due to scurs and conformational imperfections. His fleece is truly amazing, and on top of crazy density, length, and curl, it's remarkably soft!
Note: Leif is now de-horned
$200

- Meat/Fleece
Jason is a handsome guy, and could either be a great fleece producer or a nice sheepskin. He isn't super friendly. His fleece is soft and well balanced between tog and thel.
$150
